Hi! I’m Kevin KK4BFN, the current ARRL Northern Florida Section Manager. I also serve as an ARRL Official Observer, and I am an ARRL accredited Volunteer Examiner. First licensed in 2011, I earned my Extra Class license in 2016. Multiple thanks go out to the “Elmers” that have helped me along the way — Steve WB4OMM, Frank KB4T, Dennis WB3BG (sk), Darrell N4GOA and many others. I learn more each day, and that is the key to success in anything!
My home station includes a Kenwood TS-570D with an MFJ-993B Intellituner feeding a G5RV in an inverted-V configuration. On 2 meters I use a Yaesu FT-2900 to a J-pole. My mobile rig is a Yaesu FT-857D with an ATAS-120a screwdriver antenna on HF and a Diamond dual-bander for 2m/440. I like to operate portable and use an Icom IC-706Mk2G with a Buddipole antenna.
I am a member of the Daytona Beach CERT Amateur Radio Team, Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association, Volusia County ARES, Old Man International Sideband Society OMISS (#9279), Florida Contest Group, North American QRP CW Club (#8844), Flying Pigs QRP Club (#3893), and the Straight Key Century Club SKCC (#17163).
I hope to meet you on the air someday and have a nice chat! Till then, get on the air and have fun!
73, and look for me on all the bands!!!
Kevin KK4BFN
